Tom & Karla’s Princess-Cut Engagement Ring

For Tom & Karla, Albert created a bold, modern twist on the princess-cut engagement ring. He set the square diamond on point, like a diamond shape, and cradled it in four sculpted, angular corners that protect the stone while letting light pour through. The sleek, polished band keeps the focus on the center diamond for a ring that’s striking, secure and made to be worn every day. Designed and handcrafted in-house at Kaz Jewelry.

Setting a princess-cut diamond “on point” is a bold design choice: turned like a kite, the square stone looks larger and more dramatic on the hand, while the sculpted corners guard its delicate points from chips. When the ring was ready, the celebration was pure Tom and Karla, with Karla picking up a guitar right in our showroom to mark the moment. It’s one of our favorite memories, and a ring as one of a kind as they are.
